OUR LADY OF MERCY

The intricate story of Our Lady of Mercy began with the client, as we established the pose and gown draping using a model. We then construct a skeletal armature in the desired pose and apply oil-based clay to develop the figure’s anatomy. Drapery is applied, and live models help us fine-tune cloth interactions. We focus on facial expressions, emotions, and hand gestures for enhanced expressiveness. After client approval, Form 3D digitally scans the sculpture. In Portland, these scans are processed, castable prints are produced and sent to the foundry for gating and ceramic shell casting. We then perform a final metal inspection and patina approval before coordinating shipping and installation.
